USA TODAY Sports

Dalano Banton is coming off a season where he averaged 4.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field in 31 games for the Toronto Raptors.

This offseason, the 23 year old became a free agent, and (on Sunday) the Boston Celtics officially announced that they have signed him.

Via The Celtics : "The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed guard Dalano Banton. Per team policy, the terms have not been disclosed."

Banton was initially the 46th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Nebraska, and has spent his two seasons in the league with the Raptors.

His career averages are 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 41.6% from the field in 95 regular season games (he has also appeared in 4 NBA playoff games).

In addition to the Raptors, Banton has also played in the G League and this past season he averaged 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field in 14 regular season games.

At such a young age, he still has plenty of time to develop into a rotational NBA player.

As for the Celtics, they are one of the best teams in the league.

They are coming off a season where they were the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 57-25 record.
